Adaptation to Technical and Scientific Progress (ATP)

We continuously check whether the classification of substances is still in accord with recent technical and scientific advances. Adaptations to current classifications are periodically published in an “ATP” (adaptation to technical and scientific progress) of the CLP Regulation (classification, labelling and packaging).

With the 15th ATP Regulation (2020/1182), the CLP Regulation (1272/2008) has been adapted to recent technical and scientific advances. Annex VI has been adapted with the harmonised classification of substances that the ECHA risk assessment committee decided in 2018. This amendment also includes or changes the harmonised classification of a number of active substances for plant protection products and biocidal products. The amendments took effect 20 days after their publication on 31/8/2020; the transition period for amendment will elapse on 1 March 2022.
