New guidance documents available for the assessment of hand disinfection in hospitals an for teat disinfection
At the 19th of January (WGI 2017) the Working group Human Health agreed on two documents from the BPC Ad hoc Working Group on Human Exposure (HEAd hoc).
HEAdhoc recommendation no. 9: Hand disinfection in hospitals
This is a minor revision of the existing document. The revision consist of a revised calculation of the decline of the air concentration besides the addition of information. As the revision is considered minor, the revision will probably not lead to other conclusions for the exposure assessment compared to the old version. The revised version is available at theĀ ECHA website. The link is also included in our Evaluation Manual.
HEAdhoc recommendation no. 13: Exposure Assessment of Teat Disinfection Products for Veterinary Hygiene (PT3)
This document that has been discussed in a few working group meetings of the Working group Human Health. In the NL, 7 dossiers for iodine based teat disinfection were submitted in 2015. The submitted dossiers were for Union Authorisation applications and Nation Authorisation applications for Mutual Recognition in Parallel. As exposure assessments in these dossiers were very divers, a Dutch proposal for the exposure evaluation was submitted to HEAdhoc to ensure a harmonised approach for the evaluation of the dossiers on national and EU level. The final document, which is a general guidance document for the evaluation of the exposure assessment for biocides used for teat disinfection, is available at theĀ ECHA website. The link is also included in our Evaluation Manual.
